This past Sunday, Chocology had the opportunity to be one of the five sponsors of the FantaSea Fest at the Long Island Aquarium. Having been long time members and fans, Chocology’s participation in this event was an honor. With both indoor and outdoor exhibits, along with many interactive experiences, the Long Island Aquarium is an adventure the entire family will enjoy exploring together any time of year.
The FantaSEA Fest is a special event, set up to combine our love of sweets with the wonder of marine life and learning. What could be better? Included with each admission ticket, aquarium guests had the opportunity to try out local sweets and chocolates as they strolled through exhibits and learned about marine life. Chocology had the pleasure of sharing our Art of Tasting with many of the aquarium guests. It’s always nice to be reminded to slow down and enjoy the experiences that come our way.
In an effort to infuse chocolate into the marine life experience, Chocology created a chocolate covered scavenger hunt for aquarium goers to have fun and learn with. Each participant (32 families in total) set out on an adventure to find ten Chocology signs hidden around the Aquarium. Each sign held clues that would help them in completing their form for a prize. Combining chocolate with the learning process has always been one of our top priorities. What a sweet way to learn!
Once the form was complete, hunters ran back to the Chocology booth and turned in their completed Scavenger Hunt form. Everyone who turned in the form was entered to win our scrumptious basket of Chocology's award winning Fat Ass Fudge, just in time for the holidays. Congratulations to the Couch family, who not only completed the scavenger hunt but also won the basket!
Another area of interest at the FantaSea Fest was the Kids Coloring Zone. Our own Madeline Johnson, Assistant (to Managing Director) and Chief Creative Director of Chocology Kids (and daughter of Linda Johnson), created coloring pages for the young aquarium attendees. Madeline’s Merfolk coloring sheets were a hit and a great way for 47 little (and big) ones to take a break from all of the festivities and learn more about marine life in a fun and creative way. Once finished, the coloring pages were hung on the Chocology booth for display.
We love educating people about chocolate, marine life and everything in between. Learning is always fun when you add chocolate to the mix!
Missed us at the FantaSEA Fest? Not to worry! Sunday, November 22 we will be at the I Love Chocolate Festival held at the Old Bethpage Restoration Village. Come out and visit with the Chocology Team and sample, taste, savor and delight in all things chocolate. Linda will be on hand to demonstrate the Art of Tasting Chocolate and have some wonderful samples to share.
Hope to see you there!
