The story begins... In 1857, Jean Neuhaus settles in Brussels and opens a pharmacy in the prestigious Galerie de la Reine. He comes up with a clever idea of enrobing his medicines in a layer of chocolate to make them more palatable. Jean Neuhaus Jr. continues with the chocolate innovation by replacing the medicine with fresh cream, thus creating the first filled chocolate. He calls it "praline" the praline becomes an overnight success giving birth to the legendary Belgian chocolatier.
