Chocology in Bloom Continues: Cheese, Chocolate & Wonderful Discoveries
One of my favorite things about Chocology is watching people discover something they never expected.
This weekend we introduced our very first Point Reyes Cheese & Chocolate Experience, and the biggest surprise of the afternoon came almost immediately.
Several guests admitted they weren't sure about blue cheese.
Then they paired Point Reyes Original Blue with Venchi Tiramisu.
The reaction?
"Everything blended together... the cheese became so much milder."
That's exactly what great pairing is all about. It isn't about covering up flavors—it's about revealing new ones.

Our guests also fell in love with Point Reyes TomaRashi paired with Vosges Japanese Orange. The buttery cheese, citrus, sesame, and chocolate created one of those combinations that kept everyone reaching back for another bite.
But My Favorite Pairings Weren't on the Tasting Board
As much as I love introducing people to remarkable cheeses and craft chocolates, my favorite pairings are often the people sitting around the table.

Our very first guests were celebrating Mom's birthday.
As we talked and tasted, I learned that Elvis Presley was her favorite. We put on a little Elvis, and before long the whole family was smiling, singing with Mom, and even dancing a little.
Those are the moments that stay with you.

Later in the afternoon, another wonderful couple stopped in.
While we talked, they shared that their very first date was a chocolate, wine, and cheese tasting in upstate New York.
They've been together ever since.
I smiled because those stories remind me why I do this.
As I looked around the tasting table this weekend, I couldn't help but think of a quote that's always been close to my heart:
"Sometimes you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory."
Chocolate may bring people together.
Cheese may spark the conversation.
But it's the laughter, the stories, the birthdays, the first dates, and the memories shared around the tasting table that make those moments unforgettable.
That's my favorite pairing of all.
Coming Next Saturday...
The discoveries continue!

On Saturday, August 1, from 2:00–3:00 PM, we're delighted to welcome Margaret from BarnaBee Honey and her Honey Mobile to Chocology.
BarnaBee Honey is more than a local honey company—it's a family beekeeping tradition that began in Europe nearly a century ago and continues today on Long Island.
Margaret will share the story behind that tradition while introducing us to three distinctive local honeys:
🍯 Clover
🫐 Blueberry
🌼 Black Locust
Together we'll discover how different blossoms, seasons, and the work of the bees create remarkably different honeys. Tara Penske of Amadeus Aromatherapy will also be here to add another sensory layer to the afternoon, exploring how aroma influences flavor. And of course...I'll bring the chocolate!
If you're looking for a relaxed, delicious way to spend a summer afternoon, I hope you'll join us.
Because every tasting at Chocology begins with curiosity...
...and sometimes ends with a memory you'll carry long after the last piece of chocolate is gone.
Curious about cheese and chocolate? Chocology in Bloom continues all summer with new discoveries, seasonal pairings, and plenty of opportunities to slow down, taste, and connect. You never know what your next favorite pairing—or conversation—might be.
