4,000 Lego bricks + 65 Chocology Kids = WOW!
This past weekend Chocology sponsored the Lego/Minecraft build at the WMHO Lego Contest in Stony Brook, New York and what an event it was! Over 145 parents, kids and young adults participated in both building and enjoying the Lego exhibits. The atmosphere was so much fun; we can’t wait to sponsor this event again next year!
We had kids ranging in ages from 2 to 22 join us for the Minecraft Lego build. Throughout the day we had some pretty amazing designs created, some of which will travel with ILUGNY to the Brick Fair event held in New Jersey in October.
Each participant in the Chocology/Minecraft build received a Certificate of Awesomeness and will also receive a sweet treat when they visit the Chocology booth at the Port Jefferson Farmer’s Market. Thank you to all of our participants for making this event one to remember!
Also on display at the WMHO Lego Contest and event were a 6-foot Empire State Building, the New York skyline and over 50 other contest entries. The winner of the contest will be announced at the closing ceremony on October 16.
Chocology couldn’t have done this without the help of four special teenage volunteers. Thank you to Madeline, Katherine, Allen and Alina who supported this event in the areas of design, marketing, building and clean- up! We appreciate your help and look forward to working with you all again!
It was such a privilege to work with WMHO and ILUGNY at the Lego Build this year! It was a festive event that we will be looking forward to year after year.
We are posting many of the photos that we took at the event. All of the creations were absolutely wonderful however we could only post a few of the photos. We apologize if yours didn’t make the blog, there are more photos on our Facebook page.

We often write about all of the interesting people that we get to meet as we go about our Chocology business and little Alexa was no exception.
We met Beth and her daughter Alexa at the Port Jefferson Winter Market last month. What a joy it was to connect with them. When Alexa told us of a gum challenge she had done recently, we decided to enlist her help with a Fat Ass Fudge challenge as well.
Seven-year-old Alexa took home five different flavors of our Fat Ass fudge. She decided that she would recruit a couple of friends and have a fudge tasting party. Everyone was blindfolded and then tasted each of the five flavors – Mint, peanut butter, Key Lime Pie, Caramel and White Chocolate.
The first challenge was to determine which flavor was the best. Alexa found that the mint fudge was her favorite. Her friend Amy’s favorite was Key Lime Pie and her sister’s was the peanut butter.
Next, they wanted to determine which flavor was the sweetest. Alexa and her sister felt that the caramel was the sweetest. Her friend Amy was sure that the white chocolate was the sweetest of all of the flavors that they tried.
We appreciate Alexa taking the time to evaluate our Fat Ass Fudge and provide us with her results. See below to find her conclusions, written in her own words.
Do you have kids that would like to take the FAF Challenge? Email us or leave a comment and we’ll get back with you on how your kids can take part in this fun (and tasty!) activity.
And of course, check our website often. We are always experimenting with new Fat Ass Fudge flavors!
Alexa’s FAF Challenge Findings
Thank you for giving us this project.
You gave us 5 different kinds of fudge and we did a great project with it.
What we did was we put a blindfold on without knowing which type of fudge we were eating.
The 5 fudge flavors were mint, peanut butter chocolate, key lime pie and white chocolate.
Here are our resutls: My favorite was the mint, my friend Amy’s favorite was key lime pie and my sisters favorite was the peanut butter.
The sweetest for me was the caramel. My sisters was caramel and my friend Amy was white chocolate.
Thank you,
Alexa

Gratitude ~ the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindnessWe talk a lot about gratitude in the month of November. We all try to make an extra effort to count our blessings, do for others and pay closer attention to all that we have. It’s important to make this effort in every day life, and we’ve found at Chocology that it is especially important to practice gratitude in our day-to-day business dealings. Having a gratitude practice can paint a new picture on a chaotic day. Starting and running a business can bring challenges that aren’t expected at times. When we make it a point to shift our focus to what is working, rather that what is challenging, it feels as though we are swimming with the flow of life. By integrating an attitude of gratitude into our business practices, we make better decisions, even in the chaos of a challenging day. Focusing on gratitude grounds Chocology and keeps us zeroed in on giving. When we feel abundant, we feel as though we have lots to give. Our focus becomes about giving good service, good quality products and building strong relationships. We don’t have time to dwell on the things that don’t go our way, because we know that there is always another door up there on the horizon just waiting for us to walk through it. When we appreciate all of the good things that are happening, it seems to bring us even more. Chocology prides itself on making chocolate personal. Our vision is RED, putting our focus on Relationships, Education and Distinct products. All of these qualities arise from the gratitude we have for our customers and vendors. While the bottom line is important, when we put our focus on giving, the bottom line takes care of itself. We operate Chocology just as we operate our personal lives. We start our day with gratitude for our customers, our readers and all of our vendors and products. Our purpose is to bring great products and education to all that desire it and to appreciate every step we take to get there. We thought it might be nice to share some of the things that Chocology is very grateful for this month. We hope that it will inspire you to stop for a moment and think about what you are grateful for. Being thankful is the first step to creating a brand new day filled with all of our hearts desires. It really does begin with perspective. Let’s cultivate an attitude of gratitude together this month. Chocology is especially grateful for:
YOU our customers and readers
For the opportunity to share our love for all things chocolate
For all of our outstanding vendors, technical people and associates who help us make Chocology a company we are proud of
For our new Fat Ass Fudge products (We know you’re going to love them!)
For the potential to bring education to kids through Chocology Kids
For all of our pet friends out there and the opportunity to develop products that they will enjoy in the future
For all of our family and friends, who support us on this lovely chocolate adventure
We truly are thankful for the opportunity to share our passion with you. Thank you for being a part of our Chocology family. We wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving. We would love to hear what you are thankful for this month. Feel free to leave us a comment, visit us on Facebook or tweet us your gratitude list.
