Owning a chocolate business is such a joy. This summer we have been busy with summer weddings, farmers markets, festivals and private events. Madeline is participating in a camp counselor program that she loves. With all of this activity, though, there hasn’t been time for a much needed spa treatment.
Since I couldn’t find a place in our schedule for a trip to the spa, I decided to create a little TLC treatment of my own. How better to do that than to incorporate chocolate into the mix?
While Madeline was in camp one day, I decided I would surprise her when she got home. I found a delightful chocolate milk bath recipe here that I hoped would relax and rejuvenate her mind, body and soul. The great thing about this recipe is that you can do it ahead. It would make a great gift for that busy person in your life or for yourself after a hard day at work. And to sweeten this recipe even more, cocoa power provides much needed antioxidants to help repair the skin! Not only is chocolate good to eat, it’s good for your skin as well.
INGREDIENTS
***As an optional treat you could add about ⅓ cup of unscented bubble bath to your warm running bath before adding in the other ingredients
INSTRUCTIONS
Before Madeline got home, I mixed up the ingredients and then lit a chocolate candle to get the room smelling extra nice. I placed the chocolate soap bar that I’d purchased from the Southampton Soap Company and a small plate of Fat Ass Fudge on the tubs edge. Voilà! A much needed spa treatment that fit into our busy schedules. This recipe makes enough for two baths, so we were set.
While Madeline was relaxing in the bath, I enjoyed a Chocolate Fat Ass Martini on the porch. When Madeline emerged she was glowing. Her escape to tranquility had restored her inner and outer well-being. What a fantastic way to take a breath and find that inner peace. This inexpensive spa treatment is one that we will incorporate into our busy schedules more often!
Have you ever taken a chocolate milk bath? If so, we’d love to hear about it. If not, try this recipe and give yourself a much-deserved break. What a sweet ending to a long and busy day.
Thanks goes out to helloglow.co for the wonderful recipe and other great DIY ideas.

This past Sunday, Chocology had the opportunity to be one of the five sponsors of the FantaSea Fest at the Long Island Aquarium. Having been long time members and fans, Chocology’s participation in this event was an honor. With both indoor and outdoor exhibits, along with many interactive experiences, the Long Island Aquarium is an adventure the entire family will enjoy exploring together any time of year.
The FantaSEA Fest is a special event, set up to combine our love of sweets with the wonder of marine life and learning. What could be better? Included with each admission ticket, aquarium guests had the opportunity to try out local sweets and chocolates as they strolled through exhibits and learned about marine life. Chocology had the pleasure of sharing our Art of Tasting with many of the aquarium guests. It’s always nice to be reminded to slow down and enjoy the experiences that come our way.
In an effort to infuse chocolate into the marine life experience, Chocology created a chocolate covered scavenger hunt for aquarium goers to have fun and learn with. Each participant (32 families in total) set out on an adventure to find ten Chocology signs hidden around the Aquarium. Each sign held clues that would help them in completing their form for a prize. Combining chocolate with the learning process has always been one of our top priorities. What a sweet way to learn!
Once the form was complete, hunters ran back to the Chocology booth and turned in their completed Scavenger Hunt form. Everyone who turned in the form was entered to win our scrumptious basket of Chocology's award winning Fat Ass Fudge, just in time for the holidays. Congratulations to the Couch family, who not only completed the scavenger hunt but also won the basket!
Another area of interest at the FantaSea Fest was the Kids Coloring Zone. Our own Madeline Johnson, Assistant (to Managing Director) and Chief Creative Director of Chocology Kids (and daughter of Linda Johnson), created coloring pages for the young aquarium attendees. Madeline’s Merfolk coloring sheets were a hit and a great way for 47 little (and big) ones to take a break from all of the festivities and learn more about marine life in a fun and creative way. Once finished, the coloring pages were hung on the Chocology booth for display.
We love educating people about chocolate, marine life and everything in between. Learning is always fun when you add chocolate to the mix!
Missed us at the FantaSEA Fest? Not to worry! Sunday, November 22 we will be at the I Love Chocolate Festival held at the Old Bethpage Restoration Village. Come out and visit with the Chocology Team and sample, taste, savor and delight in all things chocolate. Linda will be on hand to demonstrate the Art of Tasting Chocolate and have some wonderful samples to share.
Hope to see you there!

Our Dad’s deserve a special day. They do so much for us and often it goes unnoticed. Father’s Day is a great opportunity to show Dad just how much you appreciate him and all that he does to make your family special.
Father’s Day is June 21st this year. Will you barbeque in the backyard? Or perhaps you’ll shoot a few rounds of golf. Whatever you have planned, don’t forget the chocolate!
Dad’s are notorious for urging us not to buy them gifts. He probably doesn’t need another tie or dress shirt. But who can turn down a box of exquisite Chocology chocolates or creamy mouth-watering Belgian Fudge made with organic goat’s milk and butter? Those are gifts that everyone enjoys receiving . . .even Dad!
Did you know that Chocology gives back to charities around the United States with every fudge order we receive? Perhaps your dad would love the idea of nibbling on fudge that has helped to secure a home for a family in need, empower Veterans to restore their own empowerment or assist the homeless in getting back on their feet. Knowing that your gift has helped someone else might be just the thing that puts a sparkle in his eye.
Maybe your dad is a true blue chocoholic. If so, why not have a box of our artisan chocolates sent to his office every month? The Chocolate Lover’s Club by Chocology is a great choice for the chocolate fans in your life. Imagine a fresh box of chocolates landing on his desk for the next 3, 6 or 9 months with a note from you. At Chocology, we aim to make each and every delivery special and unique. With this gift, Dad feels your appreciation the whole year through. You can’t go wrong with a gift from Chocology.
However you choose to give to Dad this Father’s Day we at Chocology wish you a wonderful day celebrating the special men in your life.
